Grand Corps Malade, born Fabien Marsaud, on July 31, 1977, in Saint-Denis. After a diving accident in 1997 left him partially paralyzed, he discovered slam poetry as therapy and a means of expression. His first texts, shared online, immediately struck a powerful chord, and his debut album Midi 20 (2006) sold more than one million copies in France.
Since then, Grand Corps Malade has established himself as the pioneer and leading ambassador of slam in France, with some ten albums, all certified gold or platinum. His lyrics, surgically precise and deeply humane, address life in the banlieues, love stories, resilience and French society. Among his most iconic titles: “Rostand,” “Les Voyages en train,” “Funambule.”
A complete artist, he is also a film director (co-directing Patients in 2017, La Vie Scolaire in 2019 and Je verrai toujours vos visages in 2023) and has become one of France’s most respected cultural figures.

Grand Corps Malade has collaborated with the biggest names in French chanson and hip-hop: Camille, Alain Souchon, Vianney, Lefa and Fabulous Trobadors. His features with artists from the new slam and rap scene reflect his role as a bridge between generations. He has also co-written lyrics for other artists.
Grand Corps Malade maintains an intense touring schedule, with regular national tours. In 2022-2023, he performed at the Olympia de Paris, the Zénith de Paris and many venues across France. Each concert is a unique experience blending slam, live music and storytelling, drawing ever-larger audiences of all ages.
